Taylor Masterson and St. Joseph's finished just inside the top 25 after starting the year as our pick to win it all
Listed below
please find PrepVolleyball.com’s Final Top 100 National Team Rankings, headed
by St. James of Lenexa, Kansas.
I have also added another hundred or so teams and will eventually reach 1,000 teams in the final rankings.
2010 Century Club
National High
School Rankings
1. St. James (Lenexa, Kansas)
Final record: 44-1; Last week’s ranking: 1
Pre-season ranking: 15
Three-time reigning Kansas
4A champs are first from state to cop national title. The Thunder did it by
playing an aggressive schedule and getting the job done with wall-to-wall
defense, a smart setter and two tremendous left side attackers, both of who are
seniors.
2. Burris (Muncie, Indiana)
Final record: 39-0; Last week’s ranking: 2
Pre-season ranking: 30
Though Burris replaced legendary coach Steve Shondell with first-year coach
Thanh Harnish, the Owls did not miss a beat, completing their second straight
unbeaten season while capturing their 14th consecutive state title. Eight
seniors graduate off of that team, but the state’s top player, Taylor Morey, is one of three key
returnees.
3. Papillion-La Vista South (Papillion,
Nebraska)
Final record: 41-0; Last week’s ranking: 3
Pre-season ranking: 5
The Class A champion Titans became the first large-class school to go through a
season unbeaten in 38 years. The team was led by three sophomores, Amber Rolfzen, Kadie Rolfzen and Kelly Hunter, all considered among the
state’s top 10 players. Combine that trio with a superstar coach like Gwen
Egbert and there’s no reason that Papillion South shouldn’t be at or near the
top of these rankings for the next two years.
4. Lyons Township (La Grange, Illinois)
Final record: 41-1; Last week’s ranking: 4
Pre-season ranking: 22
After two seasons in the Illinois 4A finals, runners up in 2009, champions this
year, the Lions will be hard-pressed to do it again in 2011 after graduating
10, including All America OH Jocelynn
Birks, who is second in school history in career kills. Juniors Alexis Viliunas, Laura Williams and Megan Miller are a nice nucleus to work
around, however. The team’s 2010 motto was," The Storm is
here!!" and they certainly took the state championship by storm,
defeating Cary-Grove in an exciting
state final match. I guess that mean’s next year’s theme will be “After the
Storm.”
5. Cary-Grove (Cary, Illinois)
Final record: 41-1; Last week’s ranking: 5
Pre-season ranking: 25
Considered the best team in the nation for much of the year, the Trojans
stumbled in the state final, losing to Lyons Township.
Patty Langanis’ team graduates superstars Colleen
Smith and Kelly Lamberti plus
two other key starters, but the cupboard is far from bare. With Ashley Rosch and Melanie Jereb leading the way, another deep run in the Illinois state playoffs
is likely in 2011.
6. Mount Vernon (Iowa)
Final record: 41-0; Last week’s ranking: 6
Pre-season ranking: 32
Small-town Iowa
may never see the likes of this team again, a squad of tall, ultra-athletic
players who dominated every sport they played.
7. Assumption (Louisville,
Kentucky)
Final record: 39-4; Last week’s ranking: 8
Pre-season ranking: 2
After a two-year hiatus from the state tournament, the Rockets captured state
again in 2010 behind a nucleus of six senior starters. Katie George and three tall middles will lead the quest for a
repeat in 2011.
8. La Jolla Country Day (California)
Final record: 33-3; Last week’s ranking: 10
Pre-season ranking: 11
After La Jolla Country Day won its second
straight California Division IV title on Saturday, coach Peter Ogle called his
Torreys the best team he has coached in 33 years at the school. Five senior
starters, including four with Division I plans for next season, will graduate. Kendall Peterkin, Maya Hood and Sheridan Rice will lead next year’s
effort for a third title in a row.
9. Pope (Marietta, Georgia)
Final record: 54-1; Last week’s ranking: 9
Pre-season ranking: 6
After two state titles in a row, coach Bryan Jones will bid farewell to a
special group of seniors who went 194-11 in four years in Greyhound uniforms.
The team was especially dominant in 2010, winning 116 sets while losing only
seven. Pope has won 10 consecutive tournaments over the course of two years. Georgia 4A
Player of the Year Mary Hannah Arrington
is one of five key returnees.
10. Palo Alto (California)
Final record: 41-1; Last week’s ranking: 30
Pre-season ranking: 55
With the score tied at 15-15 in Game 5 of Saturday’s California Division I
final, Maddie Kuppe delivered back
to back aces to give the Vikings their first title in stunning fashion over Long Beach Poly. Paly, whose theme for
the year was “Carpe Season,” set a school record for most wins and fewest
losses. The Vikings graduate two terrific seniors, but their best players will
return in 2011.
11. Lovejoy (Lucas, Texas)
Final record: 46-3; Last week’s ranking: 11
Pre-season ranking: 18
The three-time Texas
4A champs finished the year as the top-rated team regardless of class according
to LoneStarVolleyball.com. It’s no wonder since in Andie Malloy and Ebony
Nwanebu, the Leopards have two of the very best players in the state. Both
return next year along with other talented starters on a team that should be a
lock for a fourth straight title.
12. Poly (Long Beach, California)
Final record: 39-3; Last week’s ranking: 7
Pre-season ranking: 68
The blue collar Jackrabbits were hanging their heads after Saturday’s overtime
loss to Palo Alto in the California Division I
championship match. They probably shouldn’t have. Consider that they had
multiple swings for the win and could as easily have come home with Gold medals
around their necks. Their great season should not be defined by the last two
serves that fell on their side of the court.
13. Penn (Mishawaka,
Indiana)
Final record: 39-1; Last week’s ranking: 12
Pre-season ranking: 47
The Kingsmen won their first state title in 2010, capturing the 4A title over
home town Muncie Central in three
sets. The match was played on the campus of Ball State University, the alma mater of Penn coach
Lisa Pawlik and sister, assistant coach Maureen Hale. The day before the final,
Penn’s coaches took the team around
the BSU campus, taking time to drop three heads-up pennies in the famous campus
landmark “Benny'' statue for good luck. “I told our girls those were for
games one, two and three,'' said Pawlik.
14. St. Ursula (Toledo, Ohio)
Final record: 28-1; Last week’s ranking: 13
Pre-season ranking: 43
The state-champion Arrows won their second Division I title in 2010 six years
removed from their first, employing a balanced offense with three hitters
exceeding 200 kills, Cassidy Croci,
Maddie Burnham and Maggie Burnham.
Setter Veronica Zimmerman, who was First Team
All State,
will graduate as the school’s all-time leader in assists and aces.
15. Bishop Miege (Shawnee Mission, Kansas)
Final record: 38-4; Last week’s ranking: 14
Pre-season ranking: 4
The Stags won the Kansas
5A title again in 2010. They graduate four, but appear to have all the pieces
necessary to contend for a fourth straight title in 2011.
16. Mercy Academy (Louisville,
Kentucky)
Final record: 38-6; Last week’s ranking: 15
Pre-season ranking: 74
After winning state in 2008 and 2009, the Jaguars had another strong season in
2010, finishing second in Kentucky
behind Assumption. Mercy will suffer
heavy graduating losses once again, but should be strong offensively win 2011,
with setter Amanda Crask and hitters
Courtney Crable and Lauren Schneidtmiller returning.
17. Berkeley Prep (Tampa,
Florida)
Final record: 30-2; Last week’s ranking: 16
Pre-season ranking: 16
What a year for the Bucs, who repeated their 3A state championship! Coach Randy
Dagostino was named Coach of the Year, junior Jordan Burgess was named Miss Volleyball in the state, junior Mackenzie Dagostino set a school
single-season assist record, senior Natasha
Rowland shattered the school’s career digs record and senior Amber Mirabello was named MVP at the
annual senior all-star match.
18. Lakeville North (Lakeville,
Minnesota)
Final record: 31-1; Last week’s ranking: 17
Pre-season ranking: 73
The Panthers captured their first state title in 2010 behind senior setter Kellie McNeil, who was named Ms.
Volleyball; and record-setting freshmen hitters Taylor McNeil and Alyssa
Goehner.
19. Chaparral (Parker, Colorado)
Final record: 30-1; Last week’s ranking: 18
Pre-season ranking: 35
Led by Nicole Dalton, the Wolverines
won their final 24 matches of 2010 and captured their first Colorado 5A title in the process. Chaparral
was aided by the transfer of Iowa
sisters Emily and Aubrey Podschweit,
who had almost 800 digs between them.
20. Hebron (Carrollton,
Texas)
Final record: 44-7; Last week’s ranking: 19
Pre-season ranking: 9
Loaded offensively, the transfer of setter Brittany
Sample from San Antonio
put the Hawks over the top and enabled them to capture their first state title
since 2004. Senior MB Tiffany
Baker was named 5A MVP.
21. Lake Travis (Austin, Texas)
Final record: 49-3; Last week’s ranking: 20
Pre-season ranking: 8
Juniors Amy Neal, McKenzie Mayo, Piper
Toler, Sierra Patrick and Katy Beals
led the Cavaliers to the Texas 4A title in 2010. Wonder who the favorite will
be in that division in 2011…
22. Dublin Coffman (Dublin, Ohio)
Final record: 27-2; Last week’s ranking: 21
Pre-season ranking: 63
The Shamrocks pulled off the stunner in an Ohio Division I semifinal, upending
defending champion and previously unbeaten Ursuline.
But Coffman could not maintain that intensity in the final and fell for the
second straight year. With five impact seniors graduating, including three
bound for Division I programs, a third straight trip to the finals doesn’t seem
likely.
23. Ursuline (Cincinnati,
Ohio)
Final record: 27-1; Last week’s ranking: 22
Pre-season ranking: 62
The Lions will graduate one of the best liberos in the state, Kori Moster, as well as three other
seniors who have been part of a 56-1 two-year run. Noelle Langenkamp will lead Jeni Case’s squad in 2011.
24. St. Joseph’s (St. Louis, Missouri)
Final record: 31-7-2; Last week’s ranking: 23
Pre-season ranking: 1
The Angels started the year ranked No. 1 nationally, overcame a slew of
injuries and finished as Missouri Class 4 champs for the second time in three
years. The team was blessed to have an all state sophomore setter, Alyssa Jensen, along with five hitters
who accumulated 150 or more kills. Look for St. Joe’s, which returns five
starters, to be in the national championship mix again next year. One funny
story, courtesy of St. Joseph’s
coach Karen Davis: “After losing a bet to the team, the players put on my
make-up for the day. It was a school/work day so I had to attend all of my
meetings with the make-up they applied. Can you say Lady Ga
Ga? The players, students and faculty got a big laugh for the day.”
25. Mater Dei (Breese, Illinois)
Final record: 41-1; Last week’s ranking: 24
Pre-season ranking: 31
After finishing second to Joliet
Catholic in 2009, the Knights outlasted JCA for the 2010 3A title for the
first time since 2001. With Brooke
Schulte, Kayla Eversgerd, Abbey Winter and Sam Bedard back, Mater Dei should contend for the title again in
2011.
26. Harvard-Westlake (North
Hollywood, California)
Final record: 26-3; Last week’s ranking: 25
Pre-season ranking: not ranked
Injuries sometimes shatter dreams. Harvard-Westlake was arguably the best team
in the country when it won the Durango Fall Classic in September. Then injuries
hit the Wolverines hard and the depleted team fell short in the Southern
Section playoffs. Here’s hoping that Coach Adam Black and his players look on
the season as one of great successes rather than what might have been. Because what
the Wolverines accomplished was pretty special.
27. St. Francis (Mountain View, California)
Final record: 35-5; Last week’s ranking: 26
Pre-season ranking: not ranked
A great season for the Lancers ended Saturday with a Division II state title.
Junior Taylor Formico, who was
co-Player of the Year in the W.C.A.L. earned MVP honors in the four-set win
over Troy. Three key seniors will leave the St. Francis program, but Formico, Taylor Deaton, Chloe Lott, Alia Casino,
Veronica Komisarek, Sydney Belcher and Christine
Alftin are a mighty nice group that coach Leahi Hall is certain to get pumped up about.
28. Presentation (San Jose, California)
Final record: 33-6; Last week’s ranking: 27
Pre-season ranking: 51
Winning the Santa Barbara Tournament of Champions and defeated St. Francis the first three times they
faced off are season highlights for the Panthers, who came within one match of
a likely state title in Division II.
29. La Costa Canyon (Carlsbad, California)
Final record: 34-3; Last week’s ranking: 28
Pre-season ranking: 10
A seventh straight San Diego Section championship in Division I and the title
in the Torrey Pines California Challenge were among the 2010 highlights for the
Mavericks, who suffered a shocking loss to Redlands
East Valley at home to open the Southern California Regionals. Nine seniors
will graduate, but the return of two powerful middles and two terrific pin
players will put LCC in contention for another section title next fall.
30. Grand Island Central Catholic (Grand Island, Nebraska)
Final record: 35-0; Last week’s ranking: 29
Pre-season ranking: 64
Losing only three sets all year, the Crusaders got the Nebraska C-1 title that
has eluded them the previous two seasons. It was a season in which coach Sharon
Zavala got her 800th career win, landing her in Sports Illustrated’s Faces in the Crowd, and the school (enrollment
132) finished second in the state regardless of class.
31. Redondo Union (Redondo
Beach, California)
Final record: 31-9; Last week’s ranking: 31
Pre-season ranking: 65
The Sea Hawks came this close to
competing for a California Division I title in 2010, losing 17-15 in the fifth
to Long Beach Poly in the Southern
California Regional final. Lara
Dykstra’s outstanding season was rewarded when she was named Southern
Section 1-AA Player of the Year. Redondo also got great senior seasons from
setter Blake O’Brien and Nicole White, a season in which the
Hawks shared a league title for the first time in 32 years.
32. Marymount (Los Angeles,
California)
Final record: 24-7; Last week’s ranking: 32
Pre-season ranking: 82
Reserve a spot for the 2011 Sailors in our pre-season top 10 next year. The
Sailors won Southern Section I-A with a lineup loaded with underclassmen,
including setter Lauren Fuller,
hitters Lanti Moye-McLaren, Kathleen
Harris and Manon Fuller and
middle blocker Kaity Edwards.
33. Redlands East Valley (Redlands, California)
Final record: 31-6; Last week’s ranking: 33
Pre-season ranking: 24
The four-year career of No. 1 Senior Ace Krista
Vansant included almost 2,000 kills, a 139-15 record, three section titles
and two state runner up finishes (to Archbishop
Mitty). That’s might impressive for an Inland Empire
school.
34. Los Alamitos (California)
Final record: 29-6; Last week’s ranking: 34
Pre-season ranking: 3
The talk at the beginning of the year focused on whether the Griffins would be
one of the all-time great teams from the Golden State.
Then two starters, including a top 10 Senior Ace, were suspended for the season
for an on-campus indiscretion and the focus shifted. Los Al still had a great
year with many outstanding wins and a run all the way to the Southern Section
I-AA semifinals.
35. Central Catholic (Portland, Oregon)
Final record: 39-4; Last week’s ranking: 35
Pre-season ranking: 17
The two-time reigning Oregon
6A champs landed five players on the All-State list released today. Senior
setter Alyssa Foster and junior OH Martenne Bettendorf were First Team
Selections. Senior Cheyne Corrado
made the Second Team while seniors Kara
Barkdoll and Katie Mardesich
were Honorable Mention picks.
36. JJ Pearce (Richardson, Texas)
Final record: 45-5; Last week’s ranking: 36
Pre-season ranking: 12
Senior RS Stephanie Holland was playing at an All-State level
when she went down with a September injury that would cost her the rest of the
season. The Mustangs played well in her absence, reaching the 4A Final Four
before bowing out to eventual champion Lake
Travis. Senior OH Katie O’Brien
had an outstanding year for Jason Nicholson’s team.
37. Marcus (Flower Mound, Texas)
Final record: 43-6; Last week’s ranking: 37
Pre-season ranking: 29
Texas 5A champion Hebron
and the Marcus Marauders were 1-1 against one another in 2010 when they faced
off in a Regional final Nov. 13. Hebron
won that one in three sets and eventually went on to win the state title.
Senior Katie Neisler was a TGCAA All
State performer.
38. Wayzata (Plymouth, Minnesota)
Final record: 30-3; Last week’s ranking: 38
Pre-season ranking: 84
The Trojans finished second in Minnesota’s
largest class for the second consecutive year. With Julia Doyle and Toni Okuyemi
to build around in 2011, Wayzata could make another bid for the state title.
39. Marist (Chicago, Illinois)
Final record: 37-3; Last week’s ranking: 39
Pre-season ranking: 44
Will Marist, which lost to eventual 4A champion Lyons Township in a supersectional match, be the team to beat in
Illinois next year? The Redhawks are loaded with young talent but will have to
find some way to compensate for the loss of libero Carks Niedospial and middle Katie
Krasowski.
40. Central (Muncie,
Indiana)
Final record: 34-5; Last week’s ranking: 40
Pre-season ranking: 26
The Bearcats’ bid for a second consecutive 4A championship fell three sets
short. Wes Lyon will build around Jaydn’
Pegues and Anne Tinder in 2011.
41. Bellmont (Decatur, Indiana)
Final record: 34-4; Last week’s ranking: 41
Pre-season ranking: not ranked
Four terrific seniors helped the Squaws to their first Indiana 3A title since 2007. OH Alex Fuelling led the way with almost
500 kills and more than 200 digs.
42. Sunnyslope (Phoenix,
Arizona)
Final record: 40-3; Last week’s ranking: 42
Pre-season ranking: 67
Led by Madi Kingdon, Heidi Thompson
and Alex Willcoxson, the Vikings one
their third straight state title and earned the distinction of being the best
team in the state regardless of classification.
43. Marian (Bloomfield Hills, Michigan)
Final record: 68-6-1; Last week’s ranking: 43
Pre-season ranking: 41
The Mustangs recovered from potentially devastating injuries to roll to the
state Class A title for the second straight year. Marian will graduate
intimidating hitters Alex Lovell and
Alessandra Dietz as well as
defensive wiz Erin Klosterman, but
this program has entered the reloading stage and could easily be in the mix for
another title in 2011.
44. Lee's Summit West (Lee's Summit, Missouri)
Final record: 32-5-2; Last week’s ranking: 44
Pre-season ranking: 42
Led by senior setter/hitters Kaitlin
Drawe and Kylie Rice, the Titans
finished second to St. Joseph’s in
Missouri’s Class 4.
45. Flint Hill (Oakton, Virginia)
Final record: 33-0; Last week’s ranking: 45
Pre-season ranking: 85
Seniors Marilyn Peizer and Tori Janowski both transferred into Flint
Hill and will leave a legacy upon graduation that includes back to back
Independent state titles and a perfect 2010 season.
46. Bishop Fenwick (Franklin, Ohio)
Final record: 28-1; Last week’s ranking: 46
Pre-season ranking: not ranked
The nine seniors won’t long forget a season in which the Falcons’ lone loss en
route to the Ohio Div. III title came at the hands of perennial Louisville power Mercy Academy.
47. Merion Mercy (Merion
Station, Pennsylvania)
Final record: 44-0-2; Last week’s ranking: 47
Pre-season ranking: not ranked
With a third straight AA title in 2010, four-year senior standouts Shelby Manthorpe and Stacey Manthorpe have put an
everlasting stamp on a storied Golden Bear program.
48. Kamehameha (Honolulu,
Hawaii)
Final record: 35-5; Last week’s ranking: 48
Pre-season ranking: 45
The Warriors, who have won six straight Division I titles, graduate just one
key contributor in middle Talia
Jardin-Fermentez. With the continued development of freshman setter Alohi Robins-Hardy along with the
return of standout juniors Misty Ma’a
and Chelsey Keoho, a seventh title
is a virtual certainty in 2011.
49. Apex (North Carolina)
Final record: 27-0; Last week’s ranking: 49
Pre-season ranking: not ranked
Given its name, it’s no wonder that Apex finished at the top in 2010, winning North Carolina’s 4A
title. The Cougars graduate seven, including stars Kristen Harris and Alston
Kearns. They will reload next year behind setter Monica McMahon and OH Megan
Gravely.
50. King (Corpus Christi, Texas)
Final record: 46-4; Last week’s ranking: 50
Pre-season ranking: not ranked
King’s win at Pearland helped put Corpus
Christi on the volleyball map in 2010. Even better,
after winning the early-September tourney, the Mustangs continued to excel
behind seniors Dempsey Thornton, Erika
Rojas and Esther Longoria and
reached the state 5A Final Four before losing to The Woodlands in the semifinals.
51. Brebeuf Jesuit (Indianapolis, Indiana)
Final record: 31-3; Last week’s ranking: 51
Pre-season ranking: 21
Given all the returning talent for the 2009 3A champs, placing second to Bellmont in 2010 has to be considered a
disappointment. Still, how upset can you be after a 31-3 season and runner up
finish at state?
52. Catholic Memorial (Waukesha,
Wisconsin)
Final record: 46-4; Last week’s ranking: 52
Pre-season ranking: 13
A strong senior core group carried the Crusaders to a second straight Wisconsin
Division 2 title in 2010. Kinda sad to think that I won’t be writing about Katie Acker “The Attacker” next season.
Oh well. Guess I can always write about Amanda
Hansen “Cab” and Greta Davis “Eyes.”
53. Punahou (Honolulu,
Hawaii)
Final record: 19-3; Last week’s ranking: 53
Pre-season ranking: not ranked
The Buffanblu looked the part of champions late in the fall campaign, twice
taking down Kamehameha to snag the
top seed at the state tourney. With Brigitte
Russo, Alex Santi and Carly Kan
playing well, Punahou won all the way to the state final, but could not take
down mighty Kamehameha in the championship match.
54. Huntsville (Alabama)
Final record: 47-5; Last week’s ranking: 54
Pre-season ranking: 92
The Panthers won 6A again in 2010 in their first year of the post-Chelsea Wintzinger era. Wintzinger set Huntsville for five years.
Little sis Lindsey Wintzinger was
one of several key performers for coach Melanie Donahoo. Others included
middles Kenzie Broome and Jessica Lewis.
55. Memorial (Edmond,
Oklahoma)
Final record: 32-3; Last week’s ranking: 55
Pre-season ranking: 58
The 1-2 punch of Micha Hancock and Mattie Burleson proved golden in Class
6A for the second straight year.
56. Bishop Kelley (Tulsa, Oklahoma)
Final record: 30-5; Last week’s ranking: 56
Pre-season ranking: 48
The Ajanaku sisters, Inky and Kitan,
led the Comets to a fourth consecutive Oklahoma
4A title.
57. Lakewood (California)
Final record: 25-7; Last week’s ranking: 57
Pre-season ranking: not ranked
The Lancers were small, but awfully athletic and did some great things from
beginning (winning the Molten/Gahr Tournament) to end (knocking out Harvard-Westlake) in the Southern
Section playoffs in 2010. OH Tyler
Jackson and setter Megan Moenoa
had fabulous years.
58. Mt. Carmel (New
Orleans, Louisiana)
Final record: 41-3; Last week’s ranking: 58
Pre-season ranking: not ranked
The Cubs rode eight seniors to the Louisiana Division I title in 2010. Oh Kaylynn Genemaras, who had more than
500 kills; and libero Alex Pfefferle,
who had 742 digs, were among the standouts.
59. Ozark (Missouri)
Final record: 34-6-2; Last week’s ranking: 59
Pre-season ranking: 66
The Tigers could not repeat their state Class 4 title of a year ago, but did
manage to reach the state Final Four, a feat unto itself. Amazing Jade Hayes will leave the fold and head
off to Missouri,
but eight players return, including junior Meghan
Stacy, whose nickname is “Hammerhead.”
60. Carroll (Southlake, Texas)
Final record: 41-6; Last week’s ranking: 60
Pre-season ranking:
57
District co-champions with Keller
Central, of the Dragons’ six losses in 2010, five came to teams ranked
among the top 11 in the state. If next year’s team stays healthy, coach Arthur
Stanfield, who won his 800th match this season, thinks Carroll can get past the
regional quarterfinals next season, the place where the Dragons have met their
demise the past three seasons.
61. Marian (Omaha, Nebraska)
Final record: 36-7; Last week’s ranking: 61
Pre-season ranking: 78
After winning state in 2009, Marian finished second in Class A in 2010, breaking
the team single-season blocks record in the process. Other record breakers
include Kate Elman, who broke the
school and state record for season digs; and Lauren Sieckmann, who broke the school career kills record even
though she is just a junior and also sets.
62. San Clemente (California)
Final record: 29-5; Last week’s ranking: 62
Pre-season ranking: not ranked
Six Triton players will graduate next spring, but San Clemente, which advanced
to the Southern Section I-AA quarterfinals, should still be strong in 2011, as
kill leaders Alexa Strange and Bailey Tanner both return.
63. Iowa City West (Iowa City, Iowa)
Final record: 37-7; Last week’s ranking: 63
Pre-season ranking: not ranked
The state 4A champs placed four players on All State
teams. Seniors Alli O’Deen and Lexi Potter were First Team picks,
junior Olivia Fairfield made the
Second Team and senior Katie Kelley
was a Third Team choice. ICW returns six of its top nine players in 2011 and
hopes to reach the title match for the third straight year.
64. Campolindo (Moraga, California)
Final record: 34-3; Last week’s ranking: 86
Pre-season ranking: not ranked
Freshmen one season after Campolindo won its first state title in 2006, the seven
seniors on the roster made their own history by winning state on Saturday, a five-set
thriller over two-time defending champion Cathedral
Catholic.
65. West Delaware (Manchester,
Iowa)
Final record: 41-4; Last week’s ranking: 64
Pre-season ranking: not ranked
The Iowa 3A runners up lost only to Mount Vernon
in 2010. Three All
State seniors graduate – Allison Pasker, Dani Sweet and Jenna Hermsen.
66. Westlake (Austin, Texas)
Final record: 43-3; Last week’s ranking: 65
Pre-season ranking: 20
The Chaps didn’t reach the 5A Final Four for the first time in a long time and
10 seniors graduate. But this iconic program never rebuilds. Paige Caridi, Cailin Bula and Hannah Baptiste will lead the way in
2011.
67. Bishop Moore (Orlando, Florida)
Final record: 26-5; Last week’s ranking: 66
Pre-season ranking: 23
The Hornets dropped a thriller to Berkeley
Prep in the Florida
3A semifinals. Sophomore Lindsey Owens
was a First Team All Central Florida pick. Seniors Madison Monserez and Carolina
Rivas also earned All Area honors.
68. Ankeny (Iowa)
Final record: 35-4; Last week’s ranking: 67
Pre-season ranking: not ranked
I’m not sure what makes coach Dave Whims prouder, that his team reached the 4A
finals for the third year in a row (but fell short of winning a third straight state
title) or that his team boasts a GPA of 3.89 out of 4.0. The Hawkettes had 11
seniors on the roster, meaning there will be work to do in 2011.
69. Benet (Lisle, Illinois)
Final record: 32-7; Last week’s ranking: 68
Pre-season ranking: 7
A strong 2010 season came to a shocking end at the hands of blue collar Hinsdale South. It’s hard to predict whether
the Redwings will be a national-caliber team in 2011. They certainly will have
the size and offensive firepower. One day, they are sure to fulfill their
enormous potential.
70. Mother McAuley (Chicago,
Illinois)
Final record: 32-8; Last week’s ranking: 69
Pre-season ranking: not ranked
Year in and year out, coach Jen Dejarld takes a roster of undersized kids and
molds them into “take no prisoners” winners.
71. Joliet
Catholic (Joliet, Illinois)
Final record: 34-8; Last week’s ranking: 70
Pre-season ranking: not ranked
In what was supposed to be a rebuilding year, JCA reached the state 3A final.
Four starters, libero Jill Hickey
and three hitters who combined for 752 kills in 2010 will be good building
blocks for the Angels, who will have to overcome the graduation of school
single-season blocks leader Lainey Wyman.
72. Cardinal
Gibbons (Raleigh, North Carolina)
Final record: 22-2-1; Last week’s ranking: 71
Pre-season ranking: 34
The Crusaders appeared in their 13th straight state championship match in 2010
and came away with their second straight 3A title behind three underclassmen: Madison Bugg, Carolyn Albright and Victoria Phillips.
73. Eaglecrest (Centennial, Colorado)
Final record: 27-2; Last week’s ranking: 72
Pre-season ranking: not ranked
Undefeated until the state tournament, the Raptors had a memorable 2010 season
after a sub-.500 2009 campaign. Seniors Morgan
Bohl and Bailey Karst led the
way. Junior Kenna Allen and freshman
Taylor Loyd are back for 2011.
74. Waverly-Shell Rock (Waverly, Iowa)
Final record: 50-2; Last week’s ranking: 73
Pre-season ranking: 72
The Kinsey Caldwell-Morgan Kuhrt

by West Delaware in the Iowa 3A

75. Lake Catholic
(Mentor, Ohio)
Final record: 27-2; Last week’s ranking: 74

The Cougars avenged their only two losses, both to Kenston, in the Division II playoffs and went on to win the Ohio state title in
2010, besting their state runner up performance of a year ago.
76. Eden (New York)
Final record: 48-2-1; Last week’s ranking: 75
Pre-season ranking: not ranked
The Raiders were not supposed to be contenders for a state berth in 2010 after
graduating their best class in school history. But Heather Feldman and Kendall
Pierce not only propelled Eden
to the Class B Final Four, the Raiders won it all in the state’s most
competitive division.
77. Pine Creek (Colorado Springs, Colorado)
Final record: 26-5; Last week’s ranking: 76
Pre-season ranking: not ranked
Nikki Glass and Sarah Kosbab led Pine Creek to the Colorado 5A finals in 2010.
78. Ponderosa (Parker, Colorado)
Final record: 27-3; Last week’s ranking: 77
Pre-season ranking: 53
The Mustangs went into the 2010 state tournament thinking they had a chance to
repeat their 2009 5A title. But they were derailed in the semifinals by Pine Creek, one match short of the
opportunity to avenge their two other season defeats to eventual champion Chaparral.
79. Grapevine (Texas)
Final record: 37-7; Last week’s ranking: 78
Pre-season ranking: not ranked
The Mustangs’ outstanding season was catalyzed by junior setter Tanna Aljoe, named First Team All Area
by the Star-Telegram; and tall senior
middle Regan Himmelberg.
80. Yorktown (Indiana)
Final record: 32-6; Last week’s ranking: 79
Pre-season ranking: not ranked
After finishing second in the 2009 3A tournament, not as much was expected of
the Tigers in 2010. But Yorktown defeated Muncie Central to start the season and
very nearly ended Burris’ perfect
year one week before the playoffs. Led by Jill
Hopper and Kaycee Acree, Yorktown got all the way to the state semifinals this
fall before losing to state champion Bellmont.
81. Columbus East (Columbus, Indiana)
Final record: 35-3; Last week’s ranking: 80
Pre-season ranking: not ranked
The Olympians won a nail biter versus New Albany to
reach the 4A semifinals in 2010, but could not overcome Muncie Central to reach the championship match. First Team All State
setter Ellyn Jones, the school’s
all-time assist leader, will graduate for coach Faith Wilder-Newland as will
leading hitter Alicia Gosney. Sara Bean,
Shelby Holland and Heidi Robertson
will lead 10 returnees.
82. Walton (Marietta, Georgia)
Final record: 42-7; Last week’s ranking: 81
Pre-season ranking: 19
Senior libero Marilyn Holmes helped
the Raiders capture the Georgia AAAAA title in 2010. She’s the only starter
graduating, however, for a loaded team that was the only one to defeat Pope this fall. Kelly Murphy, Katherine Plessy, Hannah Rooks & Co. should be deeply
into the top 25 to start next year.
83. Snow Canyon (St. George,
Utah)
Final record: 32-1; Last week’s ranking: 82
Pre-season ranking: 99
The Warriors won their fifth straight Utah
4A title in 2010 and appear well-armed to win a sixth one in 2011. Four starters
will return, including setter Ciara Parker,
who was 4A tournament MVP as well as Player of the Year in both major daily newspapers;
and OH McKinzie Willey, who had 319
kills and 208 digs.
84. Xavier Prep (Phoenix,
Arizona)
Final record: 41-5; Last week’s ranking: 83
Pre-season ranking: 28
The Gators won their fourth straight large-class state title in 2010. Bianca Arellano and Amanda Benson, both underclassmen, were
First Team All State honorees, but the key to the
season may have been the play of junior Abby
Hornacek, a setter who converted to the outside and became a potent
offensive threat the last two months of the season.
85. Fruitport (Michigan)
Final record: 52-6; Last week’s ranking: 84
Pre-season ranking: not ranked
The Trojans won their second state title since 2005 last month, coming from
down 10-4 in the fifth set to dethrone 2009 champion North Branch. Setter Lauren
Hazekamp and OH Bre Geile will
lead the quest for a repeat in 2011.
86. East Lake
(Tarpon Springs, Florida)
Final record: 29-2; Last week’s ranking: 85
Pre-season ranking: not ranked
East Lake
won its first state title in 2010, defeating defending champion Martin County
in the 5A final. Coach Terry Small stepped down afterwards, ending his 14-year
tenure as coach at the school.
87. Cypress Woods (Cypress, Texas)
Final record: 45-3; Last week’s ranking: 87
Pre-season ranking: 56
Led by Chloe Collins, Sarah Nielsen
and Carla Armstrong, the Wildcats overcame
a late-season injury to Daniela Arenas to
reach the 5A Final Four in 2010, but could not get by eventual champion Hebron in the semifinals.
88. Keller Central (Keller, Texas)
Final record: 34-7; Last week’s ranking: 88
Pre-season ranking: not ranked
Fort Worth Player of the Year Whitney
Little and fellow senior Caylin
Mahoney led the Chargers to the 5A regional quarterfinals before seeing
their memorable year ended by Hebron.
89. LaPorte (Indiana)
Final record: 34-5; Last week’s ranking: 89
Pre-season ranking: not ranked
Senior Kim Trojan and sophomore Taylor Lebo led the Slicers to their
finest season ever, which included a spot in the 4A semifinals. Trojan was the
only senior, so expectations will be high in LaPorte to at least duplicate the
accomplishments of 2010.
90. Aiken (South
Carolina)
Final record: 43-1-3; Last week’s ranking: 90
Pre-season ranking: not ranked
Aiken used a balanced offense to capture the South Carolina 4A title. Senior Jessica Ray, the team’s leading hitter,
will graduate, but most of the key pieces return in 2011 for coach Malynda
Young.
91. Hamilton (Chandler, Arizona)
Final record: 35-7; Last week’s ranking: 91
Pre-season ranking: 81
Ashlee Bellinger, Brittany Thomas
and Payton Bock had almost 900 kills
between them as the Huskies advanced to the Arizona large-class championship final. Hamilton will have to
find replacements for Bellinger and senior setter Jordyn Moody if it wishes to contend again in 2011.
92. Woodward Academy
(College Park, Georgia)

96. Elkhart Memorial (Elkhart, Indiana)
Final record: 32-5; Last week’s ranking: 96
Pre-season ranking: not ranked
A year after graduating a ton off of a 4A finals team, the Crimson Chargers
almost duplicated the feat, falling to eventual champion Penn in a five-set semistate match.
97. Roncalli (Indianapolis,
Indiana)
Final record: 27-5; Last week’s ranking: 97
Pre-season ranking: not ranked
The toughest sectional in the state meant an early playoff exit for the Rebels,
but not before they pushed Brebeuf
Jesuit to five games.
98. Ravenwood (Brentwood,
Tennessee)
Final record: 49-8; Last week’s ranking: 98
Pre-season ranking: 49
Ravenwood’s first state title was the sixth for coach Tracey Berry, who won one
in Michigan before notching four while at Page in Franklin. The Raptors will graduate state MVP
Madelyn Hutson, but return a nice
nucleus, led by Alyssa Ivey, to go
after it again in 2011.
99. Mercy (Farmington Hills, Michigan)
Final record: 56-8-1; Last week’s ranking: 99
Pre-season ranking: 96
Maddy Doyle and Lindsey Lerg led the Marlins to the Michigan Class A finals in 2010. Both will
return next fall on a team that will need to find replacements for setter Annie Bodien and libero Brooke Ruffolo.
100. Yerington (Nevada)
Final record: 37-1; Last week’s ranking: 100
Pre-season ranking: not ranked
The Nevada 2A champions will lose four seniors, but return three First Team
All State
performers to give it a go again in 2011.
101. York (Elmhurst,
Illinois)
Final record: 36-6
Random note: The Dukes will graduate
setter Emily Iverson and libero Claire Grabinski from its Final Four
team, but with both middles, both outsides and setter Katie Gallagher returning, they have a great shot at making a
return trip Downstate in 2011.
102. The Woodlands (Texas)
Final record: 34-13
Random note: Paced by senior Katie Messing and Stacey Difrancesco, the Highlanders pulled off stunning postseason
wins over Westlake and King to reach the 5A state final before
succumbing to Hebron.
103. Rockford (Michigan)
Final record: 50-9
Random note: The Rams had a great shot to win state this year until junior
setter Halle Peterson (Michigan State) blew out her knee late in the
season. Still, Rockford managed to finish among
the top 10 in Class A and with all but two seniors back, including MB Andrea Kascits, Rockford should be a top team in 2011.
104. Sacred Heart (Louisville,
Kentucky)
Final record: 25-13
Random note: Eric Garvey’s team may
have played the toughest schedule in the nation in 2010, with 17 matches
against top national squads.
105. Edison (Huntington Beach,
California)
Final record: 21-9
Cassie Strickland and Karyn Isreal will lead the Chargers in
2011.
106. Plano West (Plano, Texas)
Final record: 29-13
Random note: The Wolves played their
first playoff game without coach Brittany Bridge, who flew to Houston to be
with her father, a former volleyball referee, one day before he passed away.
West lost that match, to nationally-ranked Carroll,
but made a name for itself by defeating Lovejoy,
Hebron and Pearce this fall. Senior DS Rachel Brummitt broke the school record
for season digs (616) and career digs (1250).
107. Boyd (McKinney, Texas)
Final record: 36-10
108. Jefferson (Bloomington,
Minnesota)
Final record: 25-4
109. Corona del
Mar (Newport Beach, California)
Final record: 24-7
Random note: Can a team have too much talent? The Sea
Queens never seemed to live up to the immense expectations despite a fantastic
season from RS Morgan Boukather.
110. Newport Harbor
(Newport Beach, California)
Final record: 23-13
Random note: It was an
injured-plagued campaign for the Tars, who placed junior setter Cinnamon Sary on the All CIF-Ss team.
Of their 13 losses, all came to teams that were in the top 100 nationally at
one point during the season. Dan Glenn’s
team also had nine wins against top 100 squads.
111. Mira Costa (Manhattan
Beach, California)
Final record: 21-10
Random note: In the first year after
Falyn, the Mustangs acquitted themselves well and managed to share the Bay
League crown for the millionth year in a row.
112. Gross (Omaha, Nebraska)
Final record: 30-8
Random note: A great group of
seniors won the Class B title for the second year in a row and sent coach
Corrine Schuster out a champion.
113. Lakota West (West Chester, Ohio)
Final record: 22-5
Random note: A season that started
with great promise finished reasonably well considering that the Firebirds’ two
top 100 Senior Aces, Liz McMahon and
Lexi Dannemiller, played together for
a total of one match and three points. Their injuries allowed other players to
grow, giving coach Tracey Kornau great hope for 2011. Libero Mel Stewart, MB Corri Muha and setter Alli
Muha are players to watch.
114. New Albany (Indiana)
Final record: 32-5
115. Centennial (Bakersfield,
California)
Final record: 34-8
116. Cathedral Catholic (San
Diego, California)
Final record: 30-9
Random note: The Dons’ quest for a
third straight California D-III title was foiled by Campolindo, but senior Taylor
Milton went out in style with 29 kills.
117. Chattahoochee (Alpharetta, Georgia)
Final record: 51-6
118. North Branch (Michigan)
Final record: 67-8-1
Random note: Gutsy undersized squad
came within a whisker of winning back to back state titles in Class B. Graduating
seven, including Miss Volleyball Jordan
Fish and All State libero Catherine
Brusie, North Branch may be in a rebuilding mode next year.
119. Brenham (Texas)
Final record: 37-11
120. Dominican (New Orleans,
Louisiana)
Final record: 41-5
121. Martin County (Stuart, Florida)
Final record: 27-5
Random note: Despite graduating all
world hitter Elise Walch and losing
legendary coach Marty Bielecki to retirement, the Tigers had another sterling season
in 2010, advancing to the Florida
5A final under first-year coach Krissy Schmidt. Nicole Walch, the state kill leader with 624, and Mallori Moffat, the state assists
leader with 1,036, are both back next year for a Martin County
team that will be favored to win state.
122. Doherty (Colorado Springs, Colorado)
Final record: 22-8
123. Cheyenne Mountain (Colorado Springs, Colorado)
Final record: 28-3
124. Cardinal Gibbons (Ft. Lauderdale, Florida)
Final record: 25-1
Random note: Loaded team won the Florida 4A title in
2010. Here’s wishing the Raiders try to play in the Berkeley Premier and other
tougher tourneys in the state next year so we can see how truly good they are.
125. The Colony (Texas)
Final record: 43-4
126. Coppell (Texas)
Final record: 30-12
Random note: The Cowgirls will
return all but one player in 2011. Incredibly talented, after another club
year, this group could challenge for the national top 10.
127. Sachse (Texas)
Final record: 41-8
Random note: The regional finalists
set a school record for wins in a season and had other significant individual
milestones as well. Senior Marissa
Olivares set the school career kills record after adding 530 this season.
Junior Adrien Richburg’s 598 kills
set a school record for a season and junior setter Emily Hundt’s 1,650 assists led the Dallas area and set a school record.
128. Western Christian
(Hull, Iowa)
Final record: 47-3
129. Rock Hill (South Carolina)
Final record: 39-2
130. Clovis West (Clovis,
California)
Final record: 27-7
131. St. Mary’s (Stockton,
California)
Final record: 30-9
132. Jesuit (Portland,
Oregon)
Final record: 36-4
133. Jackson (Mill Creek, Washington)
Final record: 29-3
134. Loudoun County (Leesburg,
Virginia)
Final record: 25-1
Random note: The Raiders are 136-8
over the past five years and have won four straight Virginia AA titles, the
first school in the state to do so. Coach of the Year Jenica Matthias landed four on the All-District Team,
including juniors Jenna Strange, the
POY, and libero Gabby Serafin.
135. Hempfield (Landisville,
Pennsylvania)
Final record: 45-8-9
136. Fontainebleau (Mandeville, Louisiana)
Final record: 40-3
137. Gilbert (Arizona)
Final record: 36-8
138. Incarnate Word (St. Louis, Missouri)
Final record: 25-11-1
139. Northview (Duluth, Georgia)
Final record: 39-15
140. The First Academy (Orlando,
Florida)
Final record: 26-4
Random note: Senior Ansley Gebben completes a five-year run
with the Royals that includes three straight Florida 2A titles, more than 1,300
career kills and almost 1,200 career digs.
141. Plant (Tampa, Florida)
Final record: 24-6
Random note: The Panthers won their
fifth straight state title in 2010, sweeping Boone in the 6A finals. Plant did not lose a set in the playoffs
and was undefeated with its lineup intact. All six losses came with outside
hitters Alex Johnson and Tina Catanach sidelined.
142. Dobyns-Bennett (Kingsport,
Tennessee)
Final record: 53-7
143. Kellam (Virginia Beach, Virginia)
Final record: 30-3
Random note: Behind Tidewater Region
Player of the Year Cheyanne James,
the Knights won the Virginia AAA title in 2010. They were motivated by the word
“Know,” a series of words in one word.
KNOW - Know you are the best. Know that you have trained harder
and longer than any team in the area, in the region, and the state. Know
that if you train and play as a team that none can stop you.
<knock the K off>
NOW - Now is the time to show what you can do. Now is the time to play
your best. Now is the time that your opponent will KNOW that they have no
chance versus you.
<knock the N off>
OW - Yes, that is what your opponent will say after every block and swing you
take. OW is what they say when a butt is kicked.
<knock off the O>
W - Know now that if you make them say "Ow" you will finish with the
W!
So, KNIGHTS KNOW!
144. Troy (Fullerton, California)
Final record: 32-3
Random note: I watched this team in
September, when it defeated Bonita
for the Division 2 title at Dave Mohs. The team that played St. Francis in the California Div. II
state finals was infinitely better, a testament to the job first year coach
Crystal Day did with this group. Nine seniors graduate, including rodeo barrel
racer Kristin Jacobs. The Warriors
will build around standout setter Sierra
Wilson in 2011.
145. Issaquah (Washington)
Final record: 27-3
146. Nation Ford (Fort Mill, South Carolina)
Final record: 29-4
Random note: The South Carolina AAA
champs did not drop a single set to a AAA team all season. The team was led by
setter Sheila Walsh (724 assists)
and standout hitters Sara Bebeau and
Caylee Antilley.
147. Heelan (Sioux City, Iowa)
Final record: 46-10
148. Cor Jesu (St. Louis, Missouri)
Final record: n/a
149. Mount Notre Dame (Cincinnati,
Ohio)
Final record: 20-7
Random note: Ranked third in the
city to end 2010, the Cougars return five starters for 2011, including All-Ohio
players Michelle Strizak (345 kills,
282 digs) and Kelsey Wolf (631
digs).
150. Laguna Beach (California)
Final record: 21-9
151. Steele (Amherst,
Ohio)
Final record: 24-2
152. Dos Pueblos (Goleta, California)
Final record: 20-8
153. Kenston (Chagrin Falls, Ohio)
Final record: 24-2
Random note: The Bombers beat Lake Catholic
twice during the regular season, but lost the five-set playoff matchup that
paved the way for Lake
Catholic to win the Ohio
Division II crown.
154. Santa Barbara (California)
Final record: 21-10
Random note: Consider this: No. 152
ranked Dos Pueblos was the lowest
ranked team that Santa Barbara
lost to all season, a season in which the Dons won 20 matches for the fifth
year in a row. Standout OH Eve Ettinger
will graduate to USC, but all other key players are back in 2011.
155. Rocklin (California)
Final record: 40-4
156. Libertyville (Illinois)
Final record: 35-3
157. Hinsdale South (Darien,
Illinois)
Final record: 33-7
Random note: Among the school-record
33 wins were victories over vaunted Benet
and York. OH Danielle Romeo and MB Morgan Howard are big losses, but Lisa
Martinez has a lot of pieces returning in 2011. Said coach Martinez about her 2010 squad: “I loved my team. They were my family. They went from a
group of individuals to a team. I do not have a bunch of rock stars. I do not
have a bunch of Division 1 athletes. I had a team that decided that hard work
and dedication were worth the payout in the end. Sixteen girls from all
different walks of life that came together and made something special happen!”
158. Moline (Illinois)
Final record: 35-3
Random note: A stumble at the wrong
time ended Moline’s
29-match winning streak and its season, but the seven seniors on the team were
special and included four Division I players, two for volleyball and one each
for basketball and softball.
159. Lafayette (Wildwood, Missouri)
Final record: 28-7
Random note: The Lancers played five
underclassmen a ton yet still managed to take conference and district titles
for the fourth straight year. Look for Lafayette
back in the top 100 next year behind Marilyn
Dick, Stephanie Campbell, Melanie Crow and setter Abby Finder, who amassed almost 900 assists in 2010.
160. Washington (Missouri)
Final record: 32-6
161. Mountain View (California)
Final record: 18-9
162. Archbishop Mitty (San Jose,
California)
Final record: 21-11
Random note: After winning the
national championship unbeaten last year with a team whose top players were all
seniors, not much was expected of the Monarchs this year. Well, the team did
not play in the Northern California regionals – the first time Mitty coach Bret
Almazan-Cezar wasn’t in a NorCal final in 14 years – but it had a terrific
year, led by two WCAL all league performers, senior Ronni Lewis (651 digs) and junior setter Alex Caldwell (675 assists, 181 kills).
163. Saint Francis (Sacramento,
California)
Final record: 31-8
164. Torrey Pines (San Diego,
California)
Final record: 24-12
Random note: The Falcons lost MB Alexa Armstrong to a knee injury late
in the year; otherwise, they might have been 100 spots higher in the rankings.
165. St. Francis (Wheaton,
Illinois)
Final record: 31-8
166. Molokai (Hoolehua,
Hawaii)
Final record: n/a

168. Upper Merion (King of
Prussia, Pennsylvania)
Final record: 25-3-1
169. Pine-Richland (Gibsonia, Pennsylvania)
Final record: 27-2; Last week’s ranking: 90
170. Blue Springs (Missouri)
Final record: 25-9
171. O’Hara (Kansas City,
Missouri)
Final record: 34-6
172. Hendrick-Hudson (Montrose, New York)
Final record: 33-4-1
173. Sutherland (Pittsford, New York)
Final record: 32-2-3
Random note: The first state title in school history was achieved with the
help of the Schirmer sisters, senior setter Selina Schirmer, who recorded 990 assists, and freshman OH Luisa Schirmer, who was sectional and
state MVP and recorded 586 kills on the year.
174. J.H. Rose (Greenville, North
Carolina)
Final record: 25-2
Random note: The rapid and
remarkable return of senior MB Caroline
Douglas from a serious knee injury and the consistent play of senior OH Jamie DeRatt helped the Rampants
getting all the way to the 4A East Regional final before being ousted by the
undefeated state champions from Apex.
175. Canyon
Crest (San Diego, California)
Final record: 33-8
Random note: It was a year of firsts
for Canyon Crest, including most wins in a season and a first trip to the San
Diego Section finals. The team was led by senior masher Sam Cash, who will graduate as the school’s all-time kills leader. Two
others set countywide records: Riley
Murphy with 524 digs and Kyana
Miller with 124 aces.
176. Orange Lutheran (Orange,
California)
