This is the “I’m late for the airport, did I remember our banner?” abbreviated edition. Like 18s, 17s and 16s before them, these rankings are based almost exclusively on qualifier performance.

1. Northern Lights Up My Life (Minnesota)
Pre-season rank: 4
Wins at Omaha, Crossroads and Northern Lights solidify the top spot for Lights, which only seems to have trouble with teams from the Kansas City area.
2. MAVA Va Voom! (Kentucky)
Pre-season rank: 2
Win over Arsel in Atlanta keeps MAVA at No. 2. Sarah Ulinksi played big in the middle.
3. Arsel Dom is Heard a Discouraging Word (Puerto Rico)
Pre-season rank: Intentionally omitted for lack of information
Last year’s champs aren’t tall but man do they hit hard. And that spandex can be blinding!
4. SCVC Shwaz (California)
Pre-season rank: 1
A slight stumble at SoCal doesn’t diminish the prospects of this squad, which knows how to Jaz is up.

Pre-season rank: 17
This might be too high given its struggles against Victory, but wins over Sunshine, coupled with Sunshine’s win at SoCal, lands TAV in the top 5.
